Default Zealot's Fire, How does it Exactly Work

I've never got Zealot's fire to work. I put it on and it says when you do a Skill to an ally it'll do ** fire damage or something like that. I do like.. eg healing breeze or hundred blades. My foes are adjacent of me as well.. Reply quickly please

when you use a skill on an ally, all foes adjacent to you are struck for X fire damage. When you use healing breeze on yourself, or on your teamate, all foes adjacent to your target should be struck for X fire damage

Zealot's fire is a lovely enchantment, isn't it? You cast it upon yourself. Then use a cheap spammable spell on your teammate who is in the thick of things. Every time you hit him with your spell, zealot's goes off and hits everything around him. If he's good he'll keep running around and get everything on top of him. Then he'll just stand there while you are safely zealoting them from a distance.

I'd like to second just how great this skill is. I personally enjoy using it with Battle Rage as every second swing allows me to trigger the zealot's fire. I've used it in the arena's along with Smite Hex and conditional removing spells... ah, just wonderful. Not many people expect a warrior to deal just under 100 damage with a combined Smite Hex and Zealot's Fire.

This spell is the greatest thing for a monk. With this and a could other goods you can solo huge areas of the game. Especially when rune farming the undead...

I wonder if when using heal party you get the damage from all of the allies that you heal? Interesting.

Zealots fire is not an Enchantment as it doesn't - energy drain on you unlike holy wrath. It is very good when enemies get close to you.I use that with balance stance.

Taken from Guildwars Guru itself

Zealot's Fire - Enchantment Spell
For 60 seconds, whenever you use a skill on an ally, all foes adjacent to your target are struck for 5-37 fire damage.

Not all enchantments drain energy. There are two kinds.
The most common have a timer till they wear off and will need to be recast.
The others have no timelimit on how long they can be up, only your energy. This kind of enchantment will put a -1 energy drain on you for each enchantment.

Sadly no It just counts as casting a spell on yourself such as Heal Area.

You are quite wrong. It is indeed an enchantment. It is timered, as is Balthazar's Aura and Shield of Judgement. (2 more of my favorite chants.)

since i didnt want to make a new thread for this, i'll just bump it

something i noticed with zealot's fire, its triggered by cyclone axe (go figure), and also by shouts (only tried with "Fear Me!" and "Watch Yourself")

it works decently on a single target, works even better with multiple ones . i've been able to let loose a shout, use cyclone axe, then use the shout again right after (providing i have 3 plus targets adjacent to me).

while its not exactly the best damage, i find its a very nice supplement to my axe damage not to mention if the enemies are using evasion/blocking stances in which the physical damage is still blocked, but the fire goes through

Ya, anything that you cast on a teammate, yourself, shouts, Self AoE Effects (Cyclone, Inferno, Heal Area, Heal Party, etc.) will set off Zealot's.

My Smiting monk does abuse that with Zealot's and a few key Warrior skills ^_^

Cyclone Axe is a wierd attack skill that it doesn't directly hit your target. It merely attacks anything nearby. You cannot target a mob and then use it from a distance hoping you'll run toward the target and hit. So I think it is best described as a self AoE spell. More interestingly, you don't need a target to use Cyclone Axe. If you hold ctrl and use Cyclone Axe without a target, it'll say "I'm using Cyclone Axe on <your character name here>". So that's why it can trigger Zealot's Fire.

I think Zealot's Fire coupled with Symbol of Wrath would also deal great damage, esp to undeads.
